You clearly don't understand what you're talking about. To play a mod for Call of Duty, you still need to buy the game, so it doesn't cost them any money and probably is actually increasing their income. In the case of Maplestory, since the game is of course free, you have to play on their server to be subject to their marketing strategy, which almost everyone who plays GMS buys into. I mean seriously, why the fuck would you want to pay $5 for a costume in a game?? Especially if you hate NE卍ON so much! Since so many people play private servers (all the people that used to pay for NX all the time) NE卍ON is losing lots of money.
